Membership Terms & Conditions
Version 4 · Updated 01 June 2026. Please read all sections carefully before proceeding to the acknowledgements.
Welcome to the Golden Cobras. Our membership program is designed for players who wish to take their hockey journey to the next level and who want to be part of a bigger hockey family and community. To ensure the best environment for our member athletes, we ask all prospective and existing members and their families to review the following standards.
1. Eligibility
1.1. Age Requirements
Membership is open to players aged 14 years old and under. Eligibility is determined by the player's age as of 31 December of the current year. Existing members who will turn 15 years old by 31 December of the current year may retain their membership by continuing to fulfil other membership requirements.
| Membership Year | Eligibility (Birth Year) |
|---|---|
| 2026 | Born 2012 or later |
| 2027 | Born 2013 or later |
| 2028 | Born 2014 or later |
| … | … |
2. Commitment
2.1. Practice Standards
Consistent training is the foundation of player development. Being a member means that there will be an expectation for commitment to practices. Members agree to meet the following monthly minimum practice requirements:
| Birth Year | Monthly Minimum Requirement |
|---|---|
| 2012 – 2015 | 3 On-Ice Group Practices (Private Lessons excluded) |
| 2016 or younger | 4 On-Ice Practices (May include Group or Private Lessons) |
Exceptions: If, by any chance, Golden Cobras is unable to offer the required number of sessions in any given month, the requirement will be waived for that month.
Absences: If members have scheduling conflicts that may affect their commitment to practice, they should provide a written notice to the Academy Director to waive their commitment requirement for that period.
2.2. Program Exclusivity
To ensure focused development, members are expected to prioritize Golden Cobras as their primary hockey program. Members are strictly prohibited from being officially registered with or participating in long-term programs with other teams.
External Events: For one-time camps or special events hosted by other organizations, please provide 30 days' written notice to the Academy Director for approval.
Permitted Activities: Participation in National Team programs and private lessons with external coaches are supported and encouraged.
2.3. Tournament Representation
Members agree to represent the Golden Cobras in all tournaments where the Academy has entered a team. Members are strictly prohibited from representing another team in the same division of competition. Players wishing to compete for other teams (e.g. National Team Development Program rosters or different age divisions) may do so with prior approval from the Academy Director.
3. Skill Foundation
We believe that players should have a baseline of skating and hockey fundamentals to fully benefit from the membership program. Players are encouraged to complete at least 10 hours of Private / Semi-Private Lessons with Golden Cobras coaches prior to membership application. The lessons can be taken within any time frame of their choice. This ensures that players are comfortable and ready for the Academy's training curriculum.

Members who are no older than 14 years old by 31 December of the current year agree to commit to a quarterly Member Development Fee of IDR 800.000. | Quarter 2 | 1 April | IDR 800.000 |

4.2. Transition to Life-Long Membership
In alignment with IIHF Statutes and Bylaws 2024–2028 (Bylaw 13.2.1), players who turn 15 years old by 31 December of the current year reach an age-grade milestone and are eligible to represent their nations in the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship. On 1 January of the new calendar year, these players transition to Life-Long Members. At this stage, the Member Development Fee is waived as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication to the Academy.
4.3. Withdrawal
Should a player wish to resign their membership, 30 days' written notice must be provided to the Academy Director. Please note that previously paid fees are non-refundable. To maintain the integrity of our membership program, those who withdraw may only re-apply for membership under special consideration by the Academy Director.
5. Our Culture
Golden Cobras Hockey Academy is built on a foundation of character, accountability, and mutual respect. To maintain an environment where elite athletes can thrive, all members are expected to personify the core values of our team, summarized by our THRIVED framework.
5.1. Core Rules & Standards
Independence & Responsibility (Aged 9 and Older): Players turning 9 within the calendar year and older are required to manage their own gear independently. This includes carrying their equipment to and from the rink and properly putting on their gear for games, practices, and lessons.
Recommendation: We highly encourage parents to teach players how to dress themselves both at home and at the rink before they turn 9. Coaches are always available to help with minor adjustments, but fundamental preparation should be done by the athlete.
Punctuality: Discipline begins with time management. Players must arrive on time for all scheduled games, practices, lessons, team meetings, and organized events. If an emergency or unavoidable conflict arises, you must notify the coach(es) in advance.
Respect: Members must demonstrate absolute respect toward coaches, teammates, opponents, game officials, rink staff, and facility property at all times.
Work Ethic & Attitude: Players are expected to give maximum effort in every session. While mistakes are a natural part of development and are fully embraced, a lack of effort or a poor attitude is not acceptable.
Coachability: Athletes must maintain a growth mindset, demonstrating the ability to listen to coaching staff and immediately work to apply constructive feedback.
Locker Room: To help develop athlete independence and a focused team environment, parents are strictly not permitted in the locker rooms. Players are also collectively responsible for keeping their assigned locker rooms clean, tidy, and organized.
Electronic Devices: To ensure absolute attention, mobile phones and personal electronic devices are strictly prohibited during team meetings.
5.2. Developmental Consequences
Our coaching staff is dedicated to teaching accountability. Should a player struggle to uphold the Golden Cobras Culture, coaches have the authority to implement immediate, fair, and developmentally appropriate consequences. These measures include, but are not limited to:
Verbal warnings
Temporary time-outs or benching during practices or games
Suspension from specific team activities, meetings, or upcoming games
6. Conduct & Compliance
Golden Cobras upholds the highest standards of sportsmanship and integrity. Any significant violation of the Membership Terms & Conditions may result in the immediate suspension or termination of membership privileges to protect the interests of the Academy and its members without refund of previously paid fees.
7. Final Approval
Membership is granted at the discretion of the Academy Director. Each application is reviewed meticulously, and special circumstances are evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure the best fit for both the player and the Golden Cobras family.
